The arrangements here are surprisingly spare, with only piano, guitar, and subtle background vocals supporting Troccoli's warm, emotive singing. In addition to a few original songs (including the serene "Morningstar" and the delicate "When I Look at You"), Troccoli offers up a nice rendition of the Carole King classic "You've Got a Friend," a track that shows off the performer's solid interpretive skills. While the spiritual messages of COMFORT are clear, it is the music that truly stands out on this 12-song set, which is easily one of Troccoli's finest albums.
