GOD BE IN MY HEART - BOOK
by Jack Miffleton

God Be in My Heart contains more than 20 classic prayer songs that span oceans, borders, and generations. You'll find prayers from Africa, Chile, Ecuador, Scotland,

and

Pakistan set to music that reflects their origins while simultaneously adding dimension to the spoken or written texts.

Children will love listening to and learning prayers that are used by children from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. This treasury of short musical pieces for home, church,

and

school includes; Christmas prayers, bedtime prayers, prayers of petition, prayers of thanksgiving and praise, and many more.

God Be in My Heart also contains devotional writings by famous authors and poets such as Victor Hugo and Ralph Waldo Emerson. These prayers paint vivid pictures that will find a permanent home in a child’s daily devotions. Colorful illustrations bring the text of each prayer to life, making it the perfect tool to help children earnestly reflect on the meaning of these "Words for God's ears."

Jack Miffleton:
Jack Miffleton, a gifted teacher and songwriter, is known internationally for his work in children’s religious education. His songs are sung in classrooms and churches around the world.

Bio:
Originally from Virginia, Jack Miffleton has more than 30 years of experience writing and composing for children. He has developed numerous youth educational programs and formerly served as editor of OCP’s publication, Today’s Liturgy with Children.

Jack creates joyful and eclectic songs to nourish a child's budding faith. Conscious of the changing needs behind each developmental stage, he writes repetitive, playful songs for very young children and more challenging, traditional songs for early adolescents. Highlights from his collection, The Gift of Our Friends, include a sung meal blessing for each season of the year, "Jambo, Yesu!," a call-and-response based on an African prayer, and "Hurt No Living Thing," based on a poem by Christina Rossetti.

Jack works in the San Francisco Bay area as a musician, playing keyboards and guitar. He and his wife own and operate a retirement facility for the elderly where Jack conducts regular sessions in music therapy for the senior residents
