At the 2011 National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, High School singers from around the country showed that you don't have to be seasoned professionals to take to the stage. 10 finalists performed flawlessly for several thousand of their peers in the very first NCYC's top TALENT contest. They were so impressive that not only did winner Mathias Michael get to record his own album, "I Believe", but each of the finalists got to record at least one song for this very special compilation.
With this album comes a brand new label, The Buzz. For the first time ever, a Catholic record label exclusively for and featuring Catholic youth! All the performers agreed that this album should be a Fundraiser to help other teens get to 2013 NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) and experience the blessings they did in 2011. So if you purchased this album, you have already helped some teenager, and the performers and album producers have taken no payment for their services.
Music on this album ranges from Rock to Folk; Traditional to Dance, and even some flavors in between. You might say this represents the future of Catholic music, and since Catholic means "universal" there is no reason why Catholic music should have only one sound is there? The performers were all between 15 and 18 years old at the time of recording, and this may well be a launching pad for some of them. Watch out for their names in the future! NCYC's top TALENT will take place again in 2013 so we hope this is only the first volume in a long series, and look forward to the music that is to follow.
